SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Sophomore left-hander Josh Romanski garnered another individual award for his performance against No. 29 UC Irvine this past week. He was selected to the College Baseball Foundation's National Honor Roll.
The sophomore from Corona, Calif., was was already named the WCC Pitcher of the Week and selected to the Tony Gywnn Classic All-Tournament team, tossed a gem in leading the Toreros to a, 2-0, victory over No. 29 ranked UC Irvine this past Tuesday. He dealt eight scoreless innings against the Anteaters, allowing no runs on two hits and striking out seven batters in the win. He permitted just one runner to reach second base, and never allowed more than one runner in any of his eight innings. The left-hander turned in his most dominating performance of the season, at one point retiring 11 straight batters.
Romanski and the 22nd-ranked Toreros will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to play No. 13 Cal State Fullerton in a 6 p.m. non-conference game at Goodwin Field.
