SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Rawlings Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week for March 24, 2014.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Junior RHP Colin Welmon guided LMU to a 7-0 shutout victory over #17 San Diego on Friday night to start a three-game WCC series with the Toreros. The righthander earned the victory and improved to 4-1 after tossing 8.0 scoreless innings, scattering seven hits while striking out three against the WCC's top offense. He did not walk a batter.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
BRETT SULLIVAN, SO., IF, PACIFIC
Sophomore IF Brett Sullivan was the Tigers best hitter as he put together a career week and weekend against Gonzaga. Sullivan started the weekend off with a literal bang as he blasted a home run for his first hit against the Bulldogs on Friday night to begin a historic evening. On Friday, Brett became the first Tiger in program history to hit for the cycle as he went in reverse order (HR, 3B, 2B, 1B) to lead the Tigers to the win.

His four RBI all were critical as each one gave the Tigers back the lead or added insurance runs late. The next day, Brett again drove in 4RBI as he hit his second home run of the weekend while going 3-for-4. Overall, Sullivan hit .600 for the week and .667 against the Bulldogs. He finished with two doubles, one triple, two home runs and a team-best five runs scored and nine RBI.
