WCC Announces Rawlings Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has named its Rawlings Baseball Pitcher and Player of the Week for March 31, 2014.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PITCHER OF THE WEEK
COREY MILLER, SR., RHP, PEPPERDINE
Senior RHP Corey Miller tossed a complete game shutout in the Waves 6-0 win over Portland, scattering seven hits to pick up his fifth win of the season. Miller struck out seven batters and walked just one, pushing his season strikeout total to 50 with just six total walks on the year. Miller threw 101 pitches on the day, leading the Waves to the shutout win in just under two hours. It was Miller’s second complete game win of the year.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
LOUIE LECHICH, SR., OF, SAN DIEGO
Senior outfielder Louie Lechich helped lead USD to a 3-1 record this past week.  Lechich paced the team’s offense hitting .412 with seven hits, two doubles, two home runs and nine RBI.  He was slugging at a .882 clip, and was a perfect 1-for-1 in stolen bases.  

Lechich went 3-for-6 with a double, a home run and four RBI in the series opening win at San Francisco.  He then closed out the week strong, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in the series clinching win over the Dons.
