Preview: Saturday's game will mark the series finale of a three-game set between Southern California rivals Pepperdine and LMU. The Waves enter the week on a recent hot streak, having won four of their last five games and eight of their last 10 contests including a three-game sweep of Saint Mary's to begin conference play last week. The Lions got the season off to a rough start but have rebounded to win three of their last five games. LMU took two-of-three from visiting San Francisco at Page Stadium last weekend, winning a conference-opening series for the sixth straight season. The Waves are led at the top of the order by junior center fielder Adrian Ortiz, the reigning WCC/Rawlings Player of the Week. Ortiz is batting a league-high .430 (58-for-135), while setting the table for shortstop Danny Worth, who paces the squad with three home runs and 28 RBI. The Lions are led by the bat of junior Eric Farris, who is hitting at a team-high .370 clip (51-for-138) and also leads the team with 22 RBI and 19 stolen bases. Fellow junior Sean Dovel provides the pop in the Lion lineup, as the catcher is tied for fourth in the WCC with five home runs and has collected 21 RBI so far this season. The two programs have split their last 14 meetings and have met in the WCC Championship Series four times, with each program capturing the league crown twice.
