Chris Pettit has never been the star of the Loyola Marymount baseball team.
For four seasons, he's quietly gone about his business in the outfield and at the plate.
"I'd much rather have us win and not do well (personally) than do well and have us lose a game," the senior center fielder said. "I just go out there and try to play hard every day. Sometimes if my uniform isn't dirty I say, 'Man, I must not have done well today.' "
Pettit may not be one to draw attention to himself, but to his teammates and coaches, he's been an MVP for years.
