Baseball Banquet Set For May 14

Moraga, CA- Saint Mary's head baseball coach Jedd Soto announced that the awards banquet has been scheduled for Sunday, May 14. The banquet will follow the final regular season game set against Pepperdine at 1 p.m. The banquet is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in the Soda Center on the Saint Mary's campus.

The banquet caps off what has proved to be the best season at Saint Mary's since 1991. The Gaels are currently 24-18 overall and 9-6 in West Coast Conference action which is one-game-back of leader Peppperdine.

Three players have already earned conference honors this season. In Saint Mary's opening week, senior Delaney Gallagher nabbed Player of the Week honors while senior Joel Fountain was named Pitcher of the Week for his one-hit complete game shutout against Georgetown. Senior Sam Carter was named Player of the Month for March and also earned a Player of the Week accolade.

Saint Mary's will host conference rival San Francisco in a weekend series. The Gaels will open the series on Friday, May 5 with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.
