(San Francisco, CA) - Junior left-handed pitcher/outfielder Scott Cousins was named the West Coast Conference/Rawlings Player of the Week for April 24-30, 2006. The selection is Cousins' second on the year, the first coming for the week of March 13-19.
At the plate, Cousins batted .643 (9-14) in four ballgames to bring his overall batting average to a healthy .337. The Reno, NV native connected for two homeruns, scored four runs and collected six RBI. He also added a stolen base, bringing his team leading total to 18.
Cousins did even better on the mound, throwing a complete game shutout against No. 24 San Diego on Friday (4/28). The North Valley High School alum struck out seven batters and only allowed six hits and two walks.
