Barry Enright Named West Coast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Month

Malibu, Calif. - Pepperdine sophomore right hander Barry Enright, who has won nine straight decisions, was selected the West Coast Conference (WCC) Co-Pitcher of the Month for April, the conference announced on Wednesday. He shared the honor with Dan Lewis of Saint Mary's.

Enright registered a 3-0 record and 2.27 ERA in five appearances during the month. In 35.2 innings, the Stockton, California, native allowed 40 hits, 13 runs (nine earned), walked four and struck out 21 while limiting the opposition to a .288 average. He worked into the seventh inning in all five starts while keeping the Waves in each game as they posted a 5-0 record.

Enright's longest outing came against San Diego on April 22 when he pitched eight innings, allowed two runs (one earned), walked one and struck out two. He pitched seven scoreless innings at Santa Clara (April 14) and struck out a career-high eight batters in seven innings against San Francisco (April 8).

Enright has won nine straight decisions to improve his career record over two seasons to 19-2.

Pepperdine returns to action against WCC rival Gonzaga on Friday when it opens a three-game series beginning at 3 p.m. in Spokane, Washington.
