PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Pilots baseball team headed to Vancouver, Wash., last weekend to play a trio of baseball games with the Columbia River Miracle League, an organization that provides opportunities for those with special needs to play baseball regardless of ability.
The Miracle League is dedicated to promoting the health and well being of individuals with disabilities while educating the public and promoting a greater understanding of matters concerning individuals with disabilities.
The Pilots headed to the Harmony Sports Complex in Vancouver where they played three games with the Miracle League kids beginning at 8:30 a.m. Each player was paired with a miracle athlete to help run the bases, play the field or take a swing.
