SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has named its Rawlings Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week for May 4, 2015.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - JOSE VIZCAINO JR., JR., IF - SANTA CLARA
Junior shortstop Jose Vizcaino, Jr. went 12-for-19 (.632) with four extra-base hits, six RBI and eight runs scored between four games against UC Davis and Saint Mary's last week. He posted a .650 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage for an OPS of 1.650. The La Jolla, Calif. native recorded three hits or more three times, including a four-hit effort Sunday to match his season high for hits in a single game.

Vizcaino, Jr. opened the scoring in an 8-7 victory Saturday over the Gaels with an RBI double in the first inning. He also singled to lead off the ninth, in which the Broncos scored three runs to erase a 7-5 deficit and even the series. On Sunday, the junior once again drove in the game's first runs on a two-RBI double to right center field in third inning. He added an RBI triple in the seventh and tied the game 6-6 with an RBI single in the top of the ninth, finishing the game a home run shy of the cycle. He recorded five putouts and eight assists as part of a 1.000 fielding percentage in 35 innings at shortstop.

Also Nominated: Anthony Gonsolin, Saint Mary's; Hutton Moyer, Pepperdine; Dillon Robinson, BYU; Brett Sullivan, Pacific

WEST COAST CONFERENCE RAWLINGS PITCHER OF THE WEEK - BRANDON BAILEY, SO., RHP - GONZAGA
Sophomore righthander Brandon Bailey threw 7.0 shutout innings to help propel Gonzaga over the second-ranked UCLA Bruins Saturday. The start was Bailey's fourth scoreless start of the season, and he's allowed one or zero runs in half of his 12 starts. Bailey struck out four and walked two. The win over No. 2 UCLA was the fifth over a ranked team, and now the Zags have a win over a No. 2 team in two of the last three years.
