Six WCC Student-Athletes Named Academic All-District

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Six West Coast Conference student-athletes have been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Team, it was announced Thursday. The group was led by Portland seniors Chris Dennis and Craig Smith, Santa Clara senior Curtis Wagner, and Gonzaga senior Cameron Edman. All four student-athletes were named to the University Division First Team, and will move on to the national Academic All-America ballot.

In addition, San Francisco junior Jason Mahood and Portland junior Kramer Scott were both named to the All-District second team.

West Coast Conference action resumes on the diamond Friday afternoon, with six of the eight WCC teams in action. For more on this year's Academic All-District selections, please see the institutional links below.
