Malibu, Calif. - Junior All-American Barry Enright, who moved into sole possession of second place on Pepperdine's all-time career wins list, was named the West Coast Conference's (WCC) Pitcher of the Week, it was announced on Monday. It marks the second time this season Enright has received the honor.
In addition to moving into sole possession of second place in program history, Enright also moved into fifth place on the WCC's all-time chart after earning his 34th career win Wednesday against No. 17 Cal State Fullerton. The junior right hander no-hit Cal State Fullerton through 5.1 innings before having his no-hit bid broken up by a bunt single in the sixth.
Enright finished his eight innings of work allowing just two hits, walking two and striking out four. The outing marked the fifth time in his last six appearances that Enright has pitched at least eight innings and improved his career record to 34-5. He also moved into fifth place on the school's all-time innings pitched list with 324.2.
Pepperdine, ranked No. 17 this week, returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts No. 10 UCLA Tuesday at Eddy D. Field Stadium beginning at 3 p.m.
