Ticket Information For WCC Baseball Championship Announced

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University has announced that its allotment of tickets for the West Coast Conference Baseball Championship Series in San Diego, Calif. will go on sale Thursday at noon.

The best-of-three series between the Bulldogs and No. 5 University of San Diego will take place May 25-27 at Cunningham Stadium on the campus of USD. Game time for the opening game on Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m., with the second game Saturday at 2 p.m. Sunday's game, if needed, will be played at 3 p.m.

Gonzaga has a limited number of $10 reserved, chair back tickets that will go on sale Thursday. Bulldog fans wishing to be seated in the GU section will be able to purchase tickets through Gonzaga's ticket office beginning at noon Thursday by calling (509) 323-6000. Tickets for Friday and Saturday games will be available for purchase using Visa or Mastercard between noon to 5 p.m on Thursday. Tickets will also be on sale Friday, Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Should the third game be necessary on Sunday, fans will be automatically charged for tickets for the contest. Tickets for all three games will be available for pick up at the gate at Cunningham Stadium when will call opens prior to the opening game on Friday.

General admission tickets (bleacher seating) are available for $5 each and can be purchased through the Toreros' website by clicking here. The USD box office will being sales over the phone on Monday.

For fans who are unable to attend the games in San Diego, the entire series will be aired live on radio in the greater Spokane area on 790 THE FAN. Tom Hudson will provide play-by-play with former Gonzaga head coach Steve Hertz providing color commentary on the broadcast. A live audio streaming of the broadcast will also be available on the Bulldogs' website, www.gozags.com.

The Bulldogs enter the post season with a 32-23 record, including finishing conference play with a 15-6 mark. San Diego finished the regular season with a record of 41-15 and 18-3 in league play. The two teams opened the WCC season with a three-game series in Spokane in which the Zags took two-of-three from the Toreros. Gonzaga was the only conference team this season to win a conference series over San Diego as well as one of only two teams from the league to defeat USD.

Gonzaga's appearance in the conference championship marks the first time since 2001 the Bulldogs have played for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Zags have appeared in the NCAA post season seven times, with the most recent coming during the 1981 season.
