SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's allotment of baseball tickets for the West Coast Conference Championship Series May 25-27 at the University of San Diego has sold out.
Fans wishing to purchase tickets through USD may do so Friday online beginning at 6 p.m. Fans can go to the USD website at http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase to purchase either reserved seat or general admission tickets. Reserved chair back seats are $10 each while general admission tickets are $5 each. The USD ticket office will begin phone orders at 9 a.m. Monday by calling (619) 260-7550.
The best-of-three series between the Bulldogs and fifth-ranked Toreros will be played at Cunningham Stadium on the USD campus. Game time for the opening game on Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m., with the second game Saturday at 2 p.m. Sunday's game, if needed, will be played at 3 p.m.
For fans who are unable to attend the games in San Diego, the entire series will be aired live on radio in the greater Spokane area on 790 THE FAN. Tom Hudson will provide play-by-play on the broadcast. A live audio streaming of the broadcast will also be available on the Bulldogs' website at http://www.gozags.com.
The Bulldogs enter the post season with a 32-23 record, including finishing conference play with a 15-6 mark. San Diego finished the regular season with a record of 41-15 and 18-3 in league play. The two teams opened the WCC season with a three-game series in Spokane in which the Zags took two-of-three from the Toreros.
Gonzaga's appearance in the conference championship marks the first time since 2001 the Bulldogs have played for the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Zags have appeared in the NCAA post season seven times, with the most recent coming during the 1981 season.
