Jason Dominguez Named WCC Pitcher of the Week

San Bruno, Calif. - Sophomore right hander Jason Dominguez, who picked up a win over USC last week, was named the West Coast Conference (WCC) Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Making his fourth start of the season, Dominguez worked five innings, allowed six hits, an unearned run, walked two and struck out one in a 2-1 Pepperdine victory. The win improved his record to 5-1 on the season.

Dominguez joins sophomore right hander Barry Enright and senior right hander James Johnson as Waves' pitchers to be honored with the award this season. Enright received the recognition twice this year while Dominguez and Johnson are first-time recipients.

Dominguez and Pepperdine travel to the Bay Area this week to take on San Francisco in the best-of-three WCC Championship Series that begins Friday at Benedetti Diamond. All three games will be televised live By Fox Sports Net with Friday's contest beginning at 1 p.m.
