WCC Announces Rawlings Player, Pitcher of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. --- The West Coast Conference announced its Rawlings Pitcher and Player of the Week for May 23, 2011.

Marco Gonzales, Gonzaga, LHP, Fr.
Gonzales made two starts last weekend and won both of them. He allowed one earned run on nine hits and he struck out 15 and didn't walk anybody in 16 innings of work. Monday against Portland, he pitched his fourth complete game and struck out seven. He also came in to hit for himself late in the game, going 2-for-2 with a double and a run in the Bulldogs 5-2 come-from-behind win. Sunday against Pepperdine, he struck out eight and allowed three hits in seven frames to post a 5-0 combined shutout victory with teammate Cody Martin.

Rawlings WCC Player of the Week
Patrick Terry, Santa Clara, C, Sr.
Senior Patrick Terry finished his home career with an impressive weekend. He batted .667 on the weekend (8-12). Terry finished the weekend with eight hits, four runs scored, five RBI, a double and a homerun. Terry had a hit in every game this weekend, including a four-RBI performance on Sunday. Terry also hit a two-run homer and a two-RBI double to knock in four the six runs Santa Clara scored.
