SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The WCC's automatic NCAA Tournament berth will be decided this weekend, as the conference's top two teams collide in Malibu. San Diego (RPI: 28) and Pepperdine (RPI: 33) enter the series tied for first in the standings. The WCC is one of three conferences without a postseason tournament (along with the Big West and Pac-12).

  • 2012 marks the second straight season that will end with the top two WCC teams squaring off. San Francisco won two of three at Gonzaga on the final weekend last year to claim the 2011 crown.

  • San Diego last won a WCC title in 2010, and Pepperdine's last WCC regular season crown came in 2006.

  • Loyola Marymount junior outfielder baseman Matt Lowenstein is the Rawlings WCC Player of the Week. Lowenstein went 7-for-10 in last week's series with Pepperdine, earning four walks and scoring four runs.

  • Gonzaga senior Tyler Olson was named the Rawlings WCC Pitcher of the Week on May 21. Olson allowed one run over eight innings, striking out five in a win over Portland last week.
