Gonzaga's Jackson Brennan Named Academic All-American

SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University senior outfielder Jackson Brennan was named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American team after helping lead the Bulldogs to a 29 win season. Brennan was a third team selection, becoming the fourth Bulldogs player to earn Academic All-America honors. Brennan hit .314 for the season leading Gonzaga with 54 runs scored, 19 doubles, 4 triples and 11 home runs. He was fourth on the team with 39 RBI. The Castle Rock, Colo., native battled through injuries until this season and graduated with a 3.64 GPA. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Gonzaga.

The ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American team is voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America and recognizes student-athletes with a GPA of 3.2 or higher. To make the Academic All-America team, a student-athlete must have been a first-team honoree in their region before being placed on the national ballot. Gonzaga's former winners include Gary Van Tol (3rd team), Jared Hertz (1st team and 3rd team) and Eric Rodland (twice 3rd team). Phillip Coker of the College of Charleston was named the baseball Academic All-American of the year.
