San Francisco's Lavin, Balog, Zimmer Named to All-Regional Team

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- USF centerfielder Pete Lavin, first baseman Nik Balog and pitcher Kyle Zimmer were named to the NCAA Los Angeles Regional's All-Regional Team.

Lavin hit .308 during regional play with two doubles, a .462 slugging percentage and made five catches with no errors. Balog made 34 put outs with two assists, while hitting .333. Zimmer pitched his first career complete game after giving up just four hits and zero runs with 11 strikeouts to get a 4-0 win against No. 12 UCLA. The sophomore limited opposing hitters to a .133 batting average.
