Frank Cruz Released as LMU Head Coach

July 23, 2008

Loyola Marymount University Athletic Director Bill Husak announced today that Frank Cruz has been released from his position as head baseball coach.

Husak said a replacement for the head coaching position will be announced in the near future.

"I want to thank Frank Cruz for his years of dedicated service to LMU as a head coach," said Husak. "Frank can be proud of many of his team's accomplishments in the past 12 years, both on the field and in the classroom. However, I felt it was time for the baseball program to move in a new direction."

Cruz recently completed his 12th season as head coach, as the Lions finished 23-32 overall and 7-14 in the West Coast Conference. Cruz's career record was 329-356-3.
