SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University baseball team will welcome back over 90 Zag alumni to the Bulldogs' campus as it hosts its annual Alumni Weekend. This year marks the first time that the event will be held at the Zags' new home, Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field.
The weekend will commence Friday, October 5, will the annual golf tournament. The tournament will be held at Meadowwood Golf Course, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Following the golf outing, baseball alumni and current Bulldogs will take batting practice at Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field at 3:30 p.m. Later in the evening, Gonzaga will host a social in the clubhouse.
The alumni game will take place Saturday, October 6, at 1 p.m. at Patterson Baseball Complex and Washington Trust Field. The game between the alumni and the 2008 Bulldog squad will be open to the general public and admission will be free of charge.
"Our Alumni Weekend is a great way to honor those who have played in our program," said Gonzaga head coach Mark Machtolf. "Thanks to their hard work, dedication and contributions, we are able to hold the event at our new state-of-the-art facility."
