SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego baseball team announces its winter baseball camps. The camp will be Dec. 26-27 for youth baseball players between ninth and 12th grade.
The USD coaching staff would love the opportunity to watch baseball players for two days against some of the best high school competition in the Western United States. The goal of this showcase camp is to teach, develop and evaluate.
Some of the features of the camp include; pre-game batting practice, pre-game infield/outfield, game instruction and drills as well as written evaluations from the USD coaching staff. The coast of the camp is only $250 (lunch not included).

Some quick information on USD head coach Rich Hill. He is entering his ninth season at the University of San Diego. Over the past five years, USD has been one of the most winning programs in the WCC as evidenced by going to the NCAA Tournament three out of the last five years. The Toreros have won back-to-back WCC Championships (2002, 2003) and have sent 24 players to pro ball since 2001. San Diego's Rich Hill has built the USD Toreros into one of the most successful Division I baseball programs on the West Coast. The 2007 spring season will be Hill's 20th year as a head coach at the collegiate level, and ninth at USD, having enjoyed 16 winning seasons in 18 years. He was honored as WCC Coach of the Year in 2002. Coach Hill has run sports camps over his entire career and was recently inducted into the Cal Lutheran Hall of Fame. Coach Hill started "Skill it Camps," LLC in 2000, and has run successful baseball camps since its inception. Hill and his wife Lori are very active in community sports programs with their kids Robbie (14) and Lindsey (12).
