UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND QUOTES

Head Coach Eric Reveno:
Opening Remarks: "As a coach I feel it's our responsibility to put [the loss] in perspective. From my perspective the season was a success [overall]. [The seniors] had some positive comments about where they felt the program was going. I thanked each one of them individually for their efforts this year. St. Mary's was dominant tonight, beginning on the offensive boards and then they had some players hit some 3's. Playing back to back [was tough]. I felt for our guys because I could look in their eyes and they were really battling, but they were having trouble."

On the Future of the Program: "I'm more excited today about [the future of] University of Portland basketball than I have been since I got here."

On the Team This Season: This team will always have a special place in my heart. I look forward to them coming back and being proud alumni in our program, that's one of our goals."

On the Impact of Ito's Back Injury: "It's hard to say. They were so dominant defending us, that he was having a challenging time. There wasn't a lot clicking and I'm not sure Taishi alone could've solved that."

Darren Cooper:
On the Support of the Crowd: "It was excited and motivating to have the Portland crowd behind us tonight. They've shown a lot of support in sticking with us during a lot of adversity through the season. We wanted to give them something better than tonight."

On the Direction of the Program: "There's a lot of potential with this team. We learned a lot throughout the season. A lot of [young] guys had to learn out there on the court this season. I definitely feel like the program is headed in the right direction."

On Fatigue: "I was fine."

On His Future: "I definitely would like to keep playing professionally, whether it's here in the States or [oversees]."

SAINT MARY'S QUOTES

Head Coach Randy Bennett:
Opening Remarks: "We played very well. We played at a high level tonight. They looked a little fatigued. Part of our plan was to just attack the boards, attack them inside, and try to wear them down."

On the Difference between this Team Now and this Team when they Last Played Santa Clara: "I think we shoot the ball better. More confidence. I think we have adjusted to not having John (Winston). We've learned to play off our posts a little better. John was the leader, the point guard, so we had to change leadership a bit. I think that is the biggest adjustment."

Brett Collins:

On the Difference between This Game in Portland and their Last Game in Portland: "The last time we played them we shot like 28% percent. This time we shot a lot better. With them playing last night, I think that wears on you. You are obviously tired in the second half. Trying to come back from 16 is tough to do when you played the night before. Fatigue shouldn't be a problem for us tomorrow as we played all ten guys tonight, so we should be pretty fresh."

On the What makes this Team so Strong at the End of the Season: "Coming into a four-out offense is tough for guys to get adjusted to. I think it takes like a season for people to get adjusted to it. Everyone's getting used to each other and we are finally starting to click."
