WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL QUICK HITS

  • As of January 5, WCC teams own a 63.2 winning percentage (74-43) vs. non-conference foes. See page 2 for the complete breakdown.

  • The West Coast Conference enters week three of the 2014-15 league slate with six teams owning an overall winning record with three boasting a winning percentage of 70.0% or better.
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Tyler Haws (BYU) rank in the top-five among active career scoring leaders. Dee has 1,808 points (5th) and Haws has 2,311 (1st).* Christopher Anderson (USD) is third in active career assists (665). This marks the second straight season a WCC student-athlete has been ranked in the top-five among active leaders in scoring and assists (Anthony Ireland, LMU).
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Kevin Pangos (GON) rank first and third nationally among active 3-point leaders. Dee has 303, Pangos 271. Sophomore guard Jared Brownridge (SCU) is sixth in 3-pointers per game (2.88) and 3-point percentage (44.1).*
  • The WCC leads the nation in 3-point field foal percentage (37.21). The league ranks third among Division I leaders in field goal percentage (45.72) and sixth in scoring (71.60).*
  • BYU’s Tyler Haws and Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos earned spots on the 2015 Wooden Award top-50 Watch List and the Naismith Trophy Men’s Top-50 for the second straight season. Pangos was also named to the Bob Cousy Award, presented to the nation’s top point guard and the Oscar Robertson Award, given to the nation’s top player.
  • Four WCC student-athletes rank in the top-20 among active NCAA free throw percentage career leaders: San Diego’s Johnny Dee (2nd/90.3), BYU’s Tyler Haws (6th/88.6), Santa Clara’s Jared Brownridge (13th/85.9) and Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos (19th/85.1).*

TRIPLE TRIPLE-DOUBLES
**BYU’s Kyle Collinsworth joined rarified air in NCAA Division I history when he turned in his third triple-double of the season at San Francisco. The NCAA single-season record is four; the NCAA career record is six.
