SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its Men's Basketball Player of the Week award-winner for January 7, 2013.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
KELLY OLYNYK, R-JR., C, GONZAGA
Gonzaga center Kelly Olynyk is the West Coast Conference Player of the Week after lifting the Bulldogs to three road victories. Olynyk averaged 23.3 points on 66% field goal shooting (23-of-35), while pulling down 7.7 rebounds per game. Olynyk scored 21 points in a win at Oklahoma State, 16 in a win at Pepperdine, and a career-high 33 in a win at Santa Clara. Olynyk also connected on 84.6% of his free throw attempts (22-for-26) for the Bulldogs, who are off to their best start ever as a Division I program.
