WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL QUICK HITS

  • As of January 27, WCC teams own a 63.9 winning percentage (76-43) vs. non-conference foes. See page 2 for the complete breakdown.

  • No. 3/3 Gonzaga is the highest ranked WCC team since the Bulldogs achieved a No. 1 national ranking in 2012-13.
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Tyler Haws (BYU) rank in the top-five among active career scoring leaders. Dee has 1,887 points (5th) and Haws has 2,437 (1st).* Christopher Anderson (USD) is third in active career assists (696). This marks the second straight season a WCC student-athlete has been ranked in the top-five among active leaders in scoring and assists (Anthony Ireland, LMU).
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Kevin Pangos (GON) rank first and third nationally among active 3-point leaders. Dee has 310, Pangos 288. Sophomore guard Jared Brownridge (SCU) is fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.85) and eighth in 3-point percentage (44.0).*
  • The WCC leads the nation in field goal percentage (45.33). The league ranks second among Division I leaders in 3-point field goal percentage (36.56) and seventh in scoring (70.69).*
  • BYU’s Tyler Haws and Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos and Kyle Wiltjer earned spots on the 2015 Wooden Award Mid-Season Top-25 list. Pangos was also named to the Bob Cousy Award, presented to the nation’s top point guard and the Oscar Robertson Award, given to the nation’s top player.
  • Saint Mary’s Sr. C Brad Waldow was named to the Mid-Season Lou Henson Award list. The award honors the Division I “Mid-Major” Player of the Year.
  • Four WCC student-athletes rank in the top-30 among active NCAA free throw percentage career leaders: San Diego’s Johnny Dee (2nd/90.7), BYU’s Tyler Haws (7th/88.6), Santa Clara’s Jared Brownridge (15th/87.0) and Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos (31st/84.7).*

TRIPLE DOUBLE NOTES
**BYU’s Kyle Collinsworth joined rarified air in NCAA Division I history when he turned in his fourth triple-double of the season at Pacific (1/15/15), tying the NCAA single-season record. The NCAA career record is six. Below are the last six confirmed WCC triple-doubles.
