SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for February 10, 2014.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – STEPHEN HOLT, SR., G, SAINT MARY’S
Senior guard Stephen Holt led Saint Mary’s to back-to-back road wins on a Southern California swing and captured WCC Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. Holt averaged 23.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game at Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine.
Holt played 41.5 minutes per game, including all 45 in an overtime win at Pepperdine, where he scored a career-high 29 points on 47.1 percent from the field to go along with four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. The Oregonian scored 17 points at LMU. For the week, Holt converted on 59.3 percent from the floor (16-27), 44.4 percent from 3-point range (4-9). His eight field goals at LMU and Pepperdine matched his season high.
With the road wins, the Gaels move into sole possession of third place in the WCC standings.
