SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- Just two weeks remain in the West Coast Conference regular season, and much remains up for grabs as teams jockey for seeding at the 2012 Zappos.com WCC Basketball Championships in Las Vegas. Action begins Wednesday night, as Loyola Marymount plays at No. 16 Saint Mary's in a critical game. On Thursday night, Gonzaga visits Santa Clara (ESPN2) and BYU plays at San Francisco (ESPNU).

LMU and Saint Mary's will both participate in Sears BracketBusters this week, with LMU hosting Valparaiso Friday (ESPNU), and Saint Mary's playing at No. 14 Murray State (ESPN) on Saturday.

WCC QUICK HITS

  • Saint Mary's and LMU meet Wednesday in a key WCC showdown. A Gaels victory would clinch a spot in the top two in the conference standings, and a double-bye to the semifinals in the 2012 Zappos.com WCC Basketball Championships. LMU enters Wednesday just a game and a half out of second place.

  • In this week's RPI Report from the NCAA, Gonzaga ranks 16th nationally among 344 Division I schools. Saint Mary's is No. 25, and BYU is ranked 47th. The RPI is an important factor in helping select at-large bids for the 68-team NCAA Tournament in March.

  • Entering four non-conference games this week, including two BracketBusters games, the WCC has a 72-44 (.621) non-conference record this season. In 2010-11, the WCC non-conference winning percentage was .554.

  • Only eight Division I teams have won at least 25 games in each of the last four seasons. Three of those teams (BYU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's) call the West Coast Conference home.

  • Loyola Marymount (vs. Valpo) and Saint Mary's (at Murray State) will participate in nationally-televised Sears BracketBusters contests later this week.

  • Gonzaga freshman Kevin Pangos is the WCC Player of the Week for February 13. Pangos averaged 24.5 points per game and didn't commit a turnover in Gonzaga wins over Saint Mary's and LMU last week.

  • Seven members of the 2011 All-WCC Team were named to this year's Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team.

  • The WCC's weekly web video show, "The Road to Las Vegas," returns to WCCsports.com on Wednesday. This week, viewers get to know a pair of standout freshmen from San Diego, Christopher Anderson and Johnny Dee.

  • Also on February 15, WCC Live, the popular Internet talk show returns. Listen via the link above.
