Gonzaga's ninth consecutive league title extended the longest active streak in the nation. The Bulldogs tied with the Kentucky teams of 1944-52 for the fourth-longest streak in NCAA history. With the announcement of the match-ups for the ESPNU BracketBusters on Feb. 2, Saint Mary's will host the No. 23 ranked Utah State Aggies on Feb. 21 in a nationally televised game. The game between SMC and Utah State will tip-off at 2 p.m. from McKeon Pavilion, and will be televised on ESPN2.

Portland Maintains Second Place Lead
The Portland Pilots continued their impressive season with a 74-45 win over Pepperdine on Thursday. The Pilots, who improved to 17-9 overall and 8-3 in WCC play, maintained their half-game lead over Saint Mary's in the conference standings. The eight WCC wins are Portland's most since a 10-4 finish during the 1995 season and the fifth most in 31 seasons affiliated with the league.

WCC Freshmen Record Setters
Several WCC freshmen are re-writing their schools respective record books. Santa Clara's Kevin Foster has enjoyed a standout first season with the Broncos and is just 17 points away from breaking Kurt Rambis' SCU freshman points scored record. In addition, Foster is already the school's all-time record holder for threes made and threes attempted. Classmate James Rahon is on track to break the Santa Clara school record for three point percentage. Loyola Marymount freshman forward Kevin Young has grabbed 191 rebounds this season, setting a new LMU freshman record, while classmate Jared Dubois is just 14 points behind Bill Donovan for fourth on the school's freshman scoring list.

Pilots Dig the Long Ball
Portland knocked down 8-of-17 shots from beyond the arc in their win over Pepperdine on Thursday. The Pilots increased their long-distance shooting percentage to 41.3, which leads the WCC and is the third best clip in the country. Portland is led by sophomore Jared Stohl, who ranks fifth in the nation in three-point percentage at 46.1 percent.
