SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The 2012 West Coast Conference season concludes this weekend, but a lot still remains to be decided. Six of the nine seeds are up for grabs in next week's Zappos.com WCC Basketball Championships, including the top four seeds.

On Thursday, BYU visits Gonzaga in a key showdown on ESPN2 that features seeding implications. Also that night, Saint Mary's can lock up a share of its second straight WCC regular season crown with a win at Portland (ESPNU).

  • Thursday's big game pits BYU at Gonzaga. The Cougars will be looking for a season sweep and a leg up in the standings, while the Zags attempt to salvage a split and remain perfect in the WCC at home (something no other team has done in 2012). Both teams can be seeded from 1-4 in next week's tournament.

  • LMU sophomore Anthony Ireland is the WCC Player of the Week for February 20. Ireland averaged 17.5 points on 58% shooting, adding 5.5 rebounds and 6 assists as the Lions won at Saint Mary's and in a Sears BracketBusters game vs. Valparaiso.

  • Seven members of the 2011 All-WCC Team were named to this year's Preseason All-West Coast Conference Team.
