SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- With the 2012 Zappos.com West Coast Conference Basketball Championships less than a week away, the WCC has announced the seeding possibilities entering the final day of the WCC regular season.

1 - Saint Mary's
2 - Gonzaga
3 - BYU or Loyola Marymount
4 - BYU or Loyola Marymount
5 - San Francisco
6 - San Diego
7 - Pepperdine or Portland
8 - Pepperdine or Portland
9 - Santa Clara

BYU: BYU is the 3 seed with a win or an LMU loss on Saturday.
LMU: LMU is the 3 seed if LMU wins and BYU loses and Saint Mary's wins (by virtue of LMU's win over top seed Saint Mary's).
PEP: Pepperdine is the 7 seed if BYU beats Portland.
POR: Portland is the 7 seed if Portland beats BYU (by virtue of its win over a BYU - a higher seed than Pepperdine's highest-seeded win, San Francisco).

If Saint Mary's loses at San Francisco and Gonzaga wins at San Diego, both SMC and GON finish 12-4, tied for first. If BYU and LMU tie for third at 11-5, then the ties would be broken like this:
-BYU and LMU split head to head. Saint Mary's and Gonzaga split head to head.
-BYU and LMU each went 1-3 against the teams tied for first.
-SMC and GON each went 3-1 against the teams tied for third.
-BYU and LMU each swept the next seed, San Francisco. SMC and GON each split with San Francisco. Thus, the two ties cannot be broken here.
-Moving to the next seed, San Diego: BYU swept USD, LMU split with USD. Therefore, BYU is the third seed, and LMU the fourth.
-Now moving back to the top, SMC is the top seed by virtue of its sweep over third seed BYU.
