Dellavedova named WCC Player of the Week

SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The West Coast Conference has announced its Men's Basketball Player of the Week award-winner for February 25, 2013.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
MATTHEW DELLAVEDOVA, SR., G, SAINT MARY'S

For the first time this season, Saint Mary's senior guard Matthew Dellavedova is the West Coast Conference Player of the Week. The reigning WCC Player of the Year averaged 19.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in leading Saint Mary's to key wins over BYU (64-57) and Creighton (74-66). He played 79 of 80 possible minutes in the two games, scoring 20 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists in the win over BYU to clinch second-place in the WCC final regular-season standings. Dellavedova followed that up with a 19 point, five assist, six rebounds effort in a win over Creighton.
