SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- For the second consecutive season, the West Coast Conference has a team in the quarterfinals of the Collegeinsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). Loyola Marymount returns to the hardwood on Wednesday night at Utah State.

Last season, Santa Clara won the CIT.

  • LMU is making its second postseason appearance in the last three years. The Lions' first round CIT win Wednesday gave the WCC five 20-win teams for the first time ever.

  • For the second time in its 60-year history of men's basketball (2008), the West Coast Conference had three teams participating in the NCAA Tournament (BYU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's). The WCC also registered five postseason teams for the second straight year (LMU, USF).

  • Only five Division I teams have won at least 25 games in each of the last five seasons. Three of those teams (BYU, Gonzaga, Saint Mary's) call the WCC home. The other two: Duke, Kansas.

  • The WCC boasts the defending CIT champion, as Santa Clars won the 2011 title with a road win at Iona.

  • The winner of Wednesday's Loyola Marymount-Utah State game will face the winner of Rice-Oakland (played on Tuesday night) in the CIT semifinals.
