Pepperdine Puts Four on NABC Honors Court

July 11, 2011

MALIBU, Calif. -- Four members of the 2010-11 Pepperdine men's basketball team - Gus Clardy, Taylor Darby, Don Martin and Corbin Moore - were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches' Honors Court today for their outstanding academic performance.

To qualify for the NABC Honors Court, a student-athlete must be either a junior or a senior, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better and have spent at least one year at his institution.

Clardy (Nacogdoches, Texas/Nacogdoches HS) graduated this past spring with a degree in history. He completed his four-year career having participated in 87 games, more than any other walk-on in school history.

Darby (San Marcos, Calif./Mission Hills HS), Martin (Gladstone, Mo./Oak Park HS) and Moore (Cypress, Calif./Los Alamitos HS) will all be seniors in 2010-11. Darby, an integrated marketing communications major, is a three-year starter for the Waves. Martin, a sports medicine major, is a walk-on heading into his third season with the team. Moore, an economics major, has started a little more than half of Pepperdine's games the past three years.

Clardy, Darby and Moore were all West Coast Conference All-Academic first team selections this past season. Martin earned WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll "gold" honors, while Clardy was "silver" and both Darby and Moore were "bronze."
