SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for November 11, 2013.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TONY GILL, SR. F, PACIFIC
Pacific senior forward Tony Gill scored a career-high 22 points in the Tigers' last-second win over Nevada on Friday night. The Tigers won 80-78, with Gill scoring over a quarter of the team's points.
Gill scored 12 of his points in the final 11:41 of the game, hitting five clutch shots. His first two shots brought the Tigers back to within two and one, and gave the team a one-point lead (58-57) with a 3-pointer at 8:34. Nevada took another another two-point lead and Gill again hit a trey to give the Tigers another one-point advantage (74-73).
Gill's final basket was a layup with just under a minute left to give the team yet another lead at 76-75 on the way to the 80-78 win. His last four field goals were lead-taking baskets.
Gill connected on 9-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-5 from beyond the arc to go along with five rebounds.
