SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has named its Men's Basketball Player of the Week for November 17, 2014.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - BRANDON CLARK, SR., G - SANTA CLARA
Senior guard Brandon Clark enjoyed one of the best opening weekends ever turned in by a Santa Clara Bronco. Clark scored 31 points against Cal State Fullerton on Friday night, the most ever by a Bronco to open the year. For the weekend, Clark recorded four career bests (rebounds, free throws made, free throws attempted, assists).
He was 15 of 16 from the free throw line - both career bests. The East Chicago, Ind. native was just one point off his career best with the 31 points. Clark is the only the seventh Bronco in school history to make 15-plus free throws in a game. He played 36 minutes in the 82-70 victory - grabbing seven rebounds - a career high. He scored 21 points vs. San Diego Christian on Saturday - collecting his fourth career best - this one with nine assists. Clark also scored 21 points.
Clark averaged 26.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game and shot 50 percent from the 3-point line and 85 percent from the free throw line on the weekend. His 52 points scored moves him to No. 26 on the career points scored list with 1,094.
