SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference has named its Men's Basketball Player of the Week for December 8, 2014.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - KYLE COLLINSWORTH, JR., G - BYU
BYU guard Kyle Collinsworth helped lead the Cougars to a 2-0 record with a 91-81 road win at Utah State, BYU's first win in Logan since 2000, and a 90-70 victory vs. Hawaii at EnergySolutions in Salt Lake City.
Collinsworth averaged 19.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 steals while shooting 50.0 percent from the field and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. Against Utah State, he had a double-double with 20 points and 10 boards while added four assists, and three steals. He hit a career-best 10 of 10 from the free throw line.
In the win against Hawaii, Collinsworth recorded just the third triple-double in the NCAA this season with 19 points on 8 of 14 shooting, 12 boards and 10 assists while adding two blocks and a steal. He helped the Cougars overcome a slow start in the first half by pacing BYU with 10 points, seven boards and six assists.
