WCC Men's Basketball Continues Strong Offensive Start

WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL QUICK HITS

  • Through December 1, WCC teams boast a sparkling .667 winning percentage (52-27) vs. non-conference foes. See page 2 for the breakdown.
  • The WCC posted a 23-5 (.821) record during the first calendar week of the 2014-15 season.
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Tyler Haws (BYU) rank in the top-five among active career scoring leaders. Dee has 1,705 points (4th) and Haws has 2,164 (1st).*
  • Christopher Anderson (USD) is third in active career assists (632). This marks the second straight season a WCC student-athlete has been ranked in the top-five nationally among active leaders in scoring and assists (Anthony Ireland, LMU).
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Kevin Pangos (GON) rank first and second nationally among active 3-point leaders. Dee has 290, Pangos 254. Sophomore guard Jared Brownridge (SCU) is fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.88).*
  • The WCC ranks third nationally in field goal percentage (46.09), ranks second among Division I leaders in scoring (74.14) and leads the country in 3-point field goal percentage (37.50).*
  • BYU's Tyler Haws and Gonzaga's Kevin Pangos earned spots on the 2015 Wooden Award top-50 Watch List for the second straight season. Pangos was also named to the Bob Cousy Award, presented to the nation's top point guard and the Oscar Robertson Award, given to the nation's top player.
  • BYU's Tyler Haws became the ninth WCC player to surpass 2,000 career points, accomplishing the feat in the opening round of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational vs. No. 15 San Diego State (11/24/14). *NCAA stats current as of 12/8/14
