WCC Establishes Inaugural Hall of Honor Brunch

Dec. 17, 2008

San Bruno, CA - As part of the 2009 WCC Basketball Championships in Las Vegas, the West Coast Conference (WCC) will be hosting its inaugural Hall of Honor Brunch on Saturday, March 7 at 9:00 a.m. at the Orleans Arena.

The event will honor eight former student-athletes or coaches--one from each West Coast Conference member--who have brought above average recognition to themselves and their respective institutions. These inductees have embodied their institution's concept of the dedicated individual by demonstrating high qualities of character and leadership, and have ended their institutional association (playing or coaching) at least five years ago.

"This is a great opportunity to transform our most high profile conference event into a true celebration of the West Coast Conference," said WCC Associate Commissioner of External Relations Scott Leykam. "This will give our fans traveling to Las Vegas, a chance to not only take in exciting basketball, but also celebrate some of the best WCC coaches and athletes of all time."

A complete list of the inductees will be released in the middle of January.

Tickets for the Hall of Honor brunch are $40 per person and $400 for a table of 10 (table sponsorships can also be purchased by request). To reserve a ticket or table, please contact Audrey Mesta at the West Coast Conference at (650) 873-8622 or amesta@westcoast.org.
