SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for December 23, 2013.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BRYCE PRESSLEY, SO., G, PORTLAND
Sophomore guard Bryce Pressley was named MVP of the South Point Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas after leading Portland to a pair of decisive wins over Bradley (74-53) and Princeton (93-79). Against Princeton, a one loss team entering the game, the Sacramento, Calif. native erupted for a career-high 25 points, including 5-for-5 on three-pointers and 4-for-4 from the foul line. He was 8-for-10 overall from the field.
Pressley's previous career best was 10 points. Against Bradley on Friday night, Pressley had a solid all-around game of nine points, four rebounds, three assists, a block and a steal with zero turnovers. Pressley averaged 17 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in the two wins as Portland improves to 8-4 entering conference play.
