West Coast Conference Men's Basketball League Season Starts Saturday

WEST COAST CONFERENCE BASKETBALL QUICK HITS

  • Through December 23, WCC teams own a 63.5 winning percentage (73-42) vs. non-conference foes. See page 2 for the complete breakdown.
  • The West Coast Conference enters the 2014-15 league slate with eight teams sporting a winning record with half the conference members with a winning percentage of 70.0% or better.
  • Junior guard Dulani Robinson of Pacific is the West Coast Conference Player of the Week. RELEASE.
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Tyler Haws (BYU) rank in the top-five among active career scoring leaders. Dee has 1,753 points (5th) and Haws has 2,234 (1st).*
  • Christopher Anderson (USD) is third in active career assists (651). This marks the second straight season a WCC student-athlete has been ranked in the top-five among active leaders in scoring and assists (Anthony Ireland, LMU).
  • Senior guards Johnny Dee (USD) and Kevin Pangos (GON) rank first and third nationally among active 3-point leaders. Dee has 298, Pangos 262. Sophomore guard Jared Brownridge (SCU) is fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.93).*
  • The WCC leads the nation in 3-point field foal percentage (37.66). The league ranks fourth among Division I leaders in scoring (73.22), third in field goal percentage (46.16) and fifth in rebounds (36.89).*
  • BYU’s Tyler Haws and Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos earned spots on the 2015 Wooden Award top-50 Watch List for the second straight season. Pangos was also named to the Bob Cousy Award, presented to the nation’s top point guard and the Oscar Robertson Award, given to the nation’s top player.
  • BYU’s Tyler Haws became the ninth WCC player to surpass 2,000 career points, accomplishing the feat in the opening round of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational vs. No. 15 San Diego State (11/24/14).
