With another week of non-conference play completed, the West Coast Conference announced its Players of the Week award with Portland sweeping the honors as Jared Stohl and Laiken Dollente received the award.
Men's Player of the Week
Jared Stohl, POR
Stohl broke his own school record by making 10 three-pointers in Portland's 82-52 win over Idaho on Tuesday. The Marysville, Wash. native finished 10-for-15 from three-point range for 30 points. He also grabbed a career-high six rebounds and matched his career-high of three steals. Stohl previously made nine three-pointers last year versus San Francisco. He became the first college basketball player in the last decade to score 30 points without making a free throw or two-point field goal.
Women's Player of the Week
Laiken Dollente, POR
Dollente went 10-for-17 from the field, 5-for-8 on three-pointers and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line en route to a season-high 31 points to help the Pilots win their only game 78-75 at home over Montana State; the win is Portland's sixth straight as the Pilots are off to the program's best start (9-3) since the 1997-98 squad opened with an identical record Also handed out seven assists and grabbed five rebounds during the win over the Bobcats It's the third time during her career to score at least 30 points and the first time since scoring 30 at San Francisco on Jan. 27, 2007; she just missed matching her career high of 32 points, which came at Portland State on Dec. 9, 2006 Dollente also passed Laura Sale for fourth on Portland's all-time scoring list with 1,566 career points; she's only 36 points shy of moving up to No. 3 on that list
