Men's Golf in First After Round One

(March 6, 2006) - Loyola Marymount University shot a first round 289 to take a two-shot lead after the first round of the Braveheart Classic Tournament at the Oak Glen Golf Course in Beaumont Monday.

Play was suspended in the second round due to darkness. The tournament will continue and conclude on Tuesday.

Jacksonville's Jamie Kennedy was the low scorer on the day, shooting a four-under 68, besting Chris Heintz of UCLA by a single stroke. A three-way tie for third features Travis Bertoni of Cal Poly, Graham DeLaet of Boise State and Jonathan Keane of Santa Clara, all tied at 70.

Individual results for the Lions were not made available.
