Toreros in 4th Place after two rounds at USF Triumph

(Pauma Valley, CA) - The USD men's golf team, coming off a 2nd place showing at their very own USD Callaway Invitational last week, are currently sitting in 4th place after two rounds of the USF Triumph at Pauma Valley Invitational. The Toreros turned in the best team score in today's second round at 282, and find themselves at 580 (+12 over par). They trail Saint Mary's College (573), Wisconsin (574) and Notre Dame (577) in the sixteen team event.

Jason D'Amore of LMU and Pat Duffy of Wisconsin share the individual lead at 136 (-6 under par). Rounding out the top-5 is Mike McCrae of Saint Mary;s (T3rd at 140), Robert McCrae of Saint Mary;s (T3rd at 140), Darrin Hall of USD (T5th at 141), and Doug Fortner of Notre Dame (140). Hall carded the second lowest round of the tourney with his second round 67 this afternoon. USD's Bucky Coe is tied for 9th place at 143 (72-71).

Rounding out USD's scores are Joe Panzeri (T29 at 148; 73-75), Mike Barry (T42 at 151; 80-71) and Dale Smith (T49 at 152; 79-73). The final round will be played Tuesday morning at the Pauma Valley Country Club (par 71; 7,077 yards).
