(Santa Cruz, CA) - The USD Torero men's golf team in participating in the 61st Annual Western Intercollegiate and find themselves tied for 10th place after the first round of play. USD shot a team score of 291 and is tied with Xavier and Kansas over the par-70/6,432 yard Pasatiempo Golf Course. Purdue leads the 18-team event with a score of 279 and is followed in the top-five by Washington (281), Cal (282), Fresno State (283) and Long Beach State (283). USD's Darrin Hall is currently tied for 8th after he fired a first round 69 (36-33).
Purdue's Pariya Junhasavasdikul carded a first-round 66 (32-34) and leads John Streibich of Xavier (67), Brett Lederer of Long Beach State (67), and Michael Jensen of Cal (67). USD's Hall if followed by teammates Bucky Coe (T22 at 71), Dale Smith (T41 at 73), Joe Panzeri (T79 at 78) and Mike Barry (T79 at 78). Second round action will be completed Tuesday morning, followed by the final round.
