Pepperdine junior J.J. Wood carded a final-round even-par 72 to finish amongst a group of seven players tying for 16th place at the National Invitational Tournament that concluded Tuesday at the par-72, 7,148-yard OMNI Tucson National Golf Course in Tucson, Arizona.
Wood finished with a 1-under par 54-hole score of 215 to finish five-shots behind individual medalist Jay Choi of New Mexico. Choi carded a three-round score of 6-under par 210 to edge a group of five players who tied for second with 5-under par totals of 211.
UCLA claimed the team title with a 14-under total of 850 to register a seven-shot victory over Arizona State (857). Minnesota (861) placed third and was followed by Texas Christian (863) and USC (864), who rounded out the Top 5.
Pepperdine placed 15th in the 15-team field with a 20-over par score of 884.
The Waves are next in action on Monday, April 3, when they open play at the Morris Williams Invitational at the Austin Country Club in Austin, Texas.
