Santa Cruz, CA - The Saint Mary's men's golf team posted a 12th place finish, out of 19 teams, at the 60th Annual Western Intercollegiate from the Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz, CA. In the rain shortened event, Saint Mary's posted rounds of 299 and 302 to finish the event with a score of 601 (+41) from the par-70, 6,432-yard course.
Leading the Gaels over the two-day event was Chadd Cocco who posted a score of 71 (+1) on Tuesday. Combined with his score of 72 on Monday, Cocco's 36-hole score of 143 (+3) was good for an eighth place tie in the individual competition.
After opening the tournament with a score of 73, Mike McRae posted a seven-over par score of 77 on Tuesday morning for a total score of 150 (+10). McRae finished in a 10-way tie for 32nd place.
Rounding out the Gaels' scoring was Josh Kelley. Kelley posted a total of 157 (+17) following rounds of 80 and 77.
The Gaels will return to action on Monday, April 3 in the Bite Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the Rancho San Marcos Country Club from San Marcos, CA.
