Toreros Finish 5th At OGIO Pacific Coast Intercollegiate

(Solvang, CA) - The USD men's golf team shot a final round team score of 282 to finish at 845, good for 5th place in the 18 team OGIO Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Tournament. The event, being hosted by UC Santa Barbara, was held at the Alisal River Course (par 72; 6,830 yards). Cal Poly won the team event with a score of 827, and was followed by Denver (832), UC Irvine (840) and Oregon State (842). Cal Poly's Chris Kirk shot a final round score of 68 to finish at 199, and earn medalist honors. USD's top finisher was Mike Barry who tied for 5th overall at 205 (68-69-68). Jake Yount, playing as an individual, finished tied for 9th overall at 207 (69-69-69).

Following Barry in the Torero team scoring was Joe Panzeri (T13 at 209; 66-72-71), Dale Smith (T40 at 214; 73-69-72), Bucky Coe (T53 at 218; 73-74-71) and Darrin Hall (T76 at 223; 75-73-75). The Toreros finished ahead of three other WCC schools - Saint Mary's (T8th at 853), San Francisco (10th at 856) and Santa Clara (18th at 876).
