USD MEN'S GOLF IN 5TH PLACE AFTER TWO ROUNDS OF WCC CHAMPIONSHIPS

(Lompoc, CA) - The USD men's golf team finds itself in 5th place after two rounds of the 2007 West Coast Conference Championships being played at the La Purisima Golf Course (par 72; 7.105 yards) in Lompoc, California. USD's two-round team total of 601 (303-298) trails Pepperdine (589; 296-293), Saint Mary's (592; 295-297); San Francisco (595; 300-295) and Loyola Marymount (600; 307-293) in the eight-team event. USD sophomore Darrin Hall is currently tied for 4th place with a 2-over-par score of 146 (74-72). Pepperdine's duo of Colin Wilcox and Eric Shriver, and LMU's Jason D'Amore are tied for the two-round individual lead at 144. The final round will be played Tuesday morning.

Rounding out USD's team score after Hall is Dale Smith (t14 at 149; 75-74), Mike Barry (t23 at 153; 79-74), Joe Panzeri (t30 at 155; 77-78) and Bucky Coe (35th at 158; 77-81). Joining USD's Hall in 4th place at 146 include LMU's Brian Locke (77-69), Daniel Cone of SMC (72-74), and Robert McRae of SMC (73-73).
