TEMPE, Ariz. - University of San Diego men's golf sophomore Darrin Hall is in second place as an individual, and tied for 40th place overall, six strokes off the leader.
Hall made par on the first hole, a 402 yard par 4, then followed on the second hole with an eagle making it to the hole in two strokes on the 323 par 4 hole. He shot par on the remaining holes on front nine to end the first half of his round at -2.
On the back nine, Hall had a rocky start shooting bogey on the 10th hole. On the 14th, he birdied the hole returning him to even for the remainder of the round. Finishing with a 70, Hall is tied with 15 other athletes for 40th place.
Hall is only one stroke behind the individual leader Brian Locke who shot a 69 on the day. He tees off at 8:32 a.m. with Locke and Dustin Pimm the University of Utah.
